The Fish Lady Recipe: Episode 11-Classic Pan Fried Trout
Classic Pan Fried Trout
2 trout fillets
½ cup flour
½ cup cornmeal
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil (more or less as needed for frying)
Lemon wedges
In a bowl add flour, cornmeal, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix together. Coat the fish fillets on both sides with the flour mixture. Set aside.
In a frying pan add vegetable oil and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan. Heat the oil on medium-high heat for a few minutes, then gently add the coated fish fillets. Fry 5-6 minutes, flip and fry another 4-5 minutes until both sides are golden brown. Remove the fish and set on paper towels to drain any excess oil. Lightly sprinkle salt on the fish while its hot. Garnish with a wedge of lemon.
