Fishing Report: Lake Havasu
Lake Havasu fishing report, March 20, 2019
Average daytime water temp: 62 degrees
Early morning striper bite is best during the first two hours of daylight, though the bite is slowing as water temps rise. Troll anchovies slow (2 mph) with 1-plus ounces of lead. Anchovy should be skipping on the bottom to provoke strikes from stripers searching the bottom for wounded shad and crawdads.
The redear sunfish bite can be good if you can find the deep water (20-30 feet) in suspended schools. Nightcrawlers and& crappie jigs rigged on a slip bobber works very well.
Smallmouth action is taking off with lots of smallies moving shallow to spawn. Try 4-inch curly or straight tailed Roboworms in chartreuse, pearl white or desert craw colors, rigged texas or dropshot style.
