Fishing Report: Colorado River waters – 43″ striper
This time of year we can get some of our larger fish here along the Colorado River. Our local angler Kenan Guleryuz landed this striper while fishing from shore in the Rotary Park area. He was throwing one of his favorite lures and landed this striper, which weighed in at 24.26 pounds and was 42 3/4 inches. Kenan later told me there was nothing in its gut. It did seem a bit lite for this length of fish.
The Casino area has been one of the better spots. Now that our rainbow trout plant has started back up, the trout fishing should be going well. The shoreline along Community Park has a few great spots for these rainbows. The Willow Beach Fish Hatchery always provides us with some great trout for our anglers. I do hope to see our trout anglers in soon. Well, soon as our weather permits.
The next stocking should be at community park and Davis Camp.
Topock Marsh
I have some news from the Topock Marsh. Our local angler Dayton Grant is showing off his recent catch, this being his largest of the limit of largemouth bass he landed. Dayton was fishing from his boat using his favorite spinnerbait and landed this largemouth bass at 4.24 pounds and 20 7/8 inches.
Lake Mohave striper bite “OK”
Up on Lake Mohave the striper bite is doing OK with some anglers bring in a few in the 4- to 8-pound range. This size is also being found here along the river below the Davis Dam.
Hope this helps for now and we will see you in soon thanks for all of your support.
Now go catch a fish.
