Fishing Report: Colorado River waters
Our local and visiting anglers are having some great catches here along the Colorado River. So far, below the Davis dam is producing the best.
I know that we will be getting some Lake Mohave news soon, but for now the fishing is best below the dam.
Jeremy Martin was fishing in the casino area using his favorite lure and landed a nice 20.4-pound striper at 38 and 58 inches. While farther down river in the Nature Center area, and on a kayak, was little Johnny Krall (not so little any more as I have known him and his family for a while).
John was using a Bomber lure to land 18 .02-, 14.2-, and 5.12-pound stripers at 36 and 1/2, 35, and 26 1/4 inches. He stopped in in the morning to purchase a lure and brought these back in a few hours later.
Nature Center, Community Park areas
Our local anglers and johns fishing buddy Cole Tracy did OK with a nice 10.92-pound striper at 30 and 1/2 inches with his smaller fish weighed 2.24 pounds. Cole was also on a kayak and just a bit above the Nature Center area using his Bomber Long-A. I have been hearing of some nice trout being landed in the Community Park area. This is a great spot for all of your family’s recreation needs and great shoreline for trout or stripers — even some catfish once in a while. The Nature Center has some great trails and some of our nicest beaches, a nice spot for a barbeque, and some fishing.
The marsh is been a bit slow with a few catfish, but mostly the largemouth bass are the most active this time of year.
