Community fishing news: golden algae battle winds down
This past winter, more Arizona lakes tested positive for golden algae than any year since 2005, when we first confirmed golden algae. But the end is in sight.
Phoenix-area Community waters such as Riverview, Cortez and Alvord lakes have been successfully treated and are receiving their regularly scheduled fish stockings again. Tempe Town Lake is on the verge of recovery and is again expected to be stocked with catfish the week of April 23-28.
Trout stockings will continue at Green Valley Lakes in Payson until early May. For more details check out the stocking schedule. The schedule is also posted inside the information cabinets at all CFP waters.
