Video on sinking trees in Dogtown Reservoir
The Arizona Game and Fish Department partnered with the Kaibab National Forest, the Northern Arizona Flycasters and Trout Unlimited to place hundreds of freshly cut juniper trees into Dogtown Lake near Williams Arizona. Large junipers were placed into this important fishery to enhance survival and recruitment of warmwater sportfish such as Largemouth Bass, Bluegill and Black Crappie. So far the project is working better than expected. Not only are the Bass, Bluegill and Crappie using the habitat, the stocked Rainbow Trout seem to be growing faster as well. It’s also made fishing better, with positive reports and big fish pictures coming in. We would like to thank the Kaibab National Forrest and all of our committed flycasters that made this project possible.
