Trout in the Classroom Program
on Saturday, August 13th, a workshop for the Trout in the Classroom Program was held at the Arizona Game and Fish Headquarters in Phoenix. This year 41 participants made up of teachers and volunteers attended the workshop. Trout in the Classroom is a Trout Unlimited initiative in partnership with Arizona Game and Fish Department. This program provides aquarium equipment and trout eggs to schools. This year 28 different schools across Arizona are participating in the program, reaching approximately 4,000 students. The goal of the program is to involve third through twelfth grade students in a scientific, hands-on learning opportunity within the classroom, including repetitive exposure to trout, their life cycle, and their impact on the ecosystem.
