See what Roosevelt Lake habitat looks like on sonar
If you’re looking to fish around the hundreds of artificial structures we’ve been building and dropping into Roosevelt Lake the past couple years, you’ll probably need to know what they look like on sonar.
First, check out this printable map. It gives you habitat type, location and number of structures. Coordinates are in UTMs (switch to this coordinate, if necessary, on your G.P.S. program or device). Yep, this is a game-changer for anglers. The fish seem to dig their new homes, too.
Alright, here’s what some of these habitat structures look like — first in real life, then their representations on your fish finders.
Concrete fish balls
Mossback structures
Georgia cubes
Now that you know what to look for on your fish finders, try targeting some of these structures next time you’re out fishing at Roosevelt Lake.
If you haven’t heard, fishing at Roosevelt is still “en fuego.”
