Big Brown Trout Caught on Dogtown, Big Rainbow on Frances Short
Fishing is great at Dogtown, Kinnikinick and Frances Short this week.
DOGTOWN LAKE — Kastmasters were working from shore last Thursday when my coworker fished the lake. He caught a dozen nice fish all along the north shore in a couple of hours. Yesterday anglers on shore were doing really well using rainbow power bait, green garlic power bait and rainbow garlic powerbait. We saw a 23 inch Brown Trout caught while we were collecting plankton samples. A couple of folks fishing from a boat were also catching fish on lures.
FRANCIS SHORT POND – Worms were working this past weekend along meal worms under a bobber or powerbait. There was an angler fishing on Saturday using baby bell cheese fished on the bottom with no weight who was catching lots of trout. Folks using flies and lures have also been catching trout. Tuesday when I stocked the lake a fly angler caught an 18inch long 2 lb Rainbow Trout. We had a report of another 17-18 inch Rainbow being caught on Wednesday.
KINNIKINICK LAKE —I had reports from two anglers who fished the lake that fishing is excellent for trout. They fished the lake last Thursday and reported that folks were catching fish all over the lake using spinners. Folks were also doing well fishing from boats with lures or flies.
