Rose Canyon Lake
Dave L.: I have been up to Rose Canyon Lake a number of times these past couple of weeks. Weekends are insane because it is really overpopulated with people, although I do love the fact that people from Tucson and the surrounding area can make use of this lake.
But by noon you’re fighting for position everywhere along the banks. The biting has been somewhat steady, better in the early morning hours around noon, and late afternoon. I’m still using worms and they still seem to be biting. I do know people use corn and PowerBait and they have been getting results as well.
Because the weather is so warm the fish are deep and so you really have to drop a line down somewhat. You can Carolina rig it and hope that you get it down close to the bottom.
Went out yesterday and caught only one during 6 hours. They’re finicky when the weather gets really warm. Can’t wait for September and October. Good luck you all.
