Bartlett Lake
My name is Erik Barrantes out of Mesa and I caught a flathead catfish that I felt would be worth sharing and submitting for the Fat Cat Challenge to AZGFD.
On Sunday, Aug. 11 at Bartlett Lake I was able to land a good sized flathead catfish. I was able to catch the fish using a 3-way rig with a live bluegill. The flathead measured 49 inches in length and 30 inches in girth.
Editor’s note: This catfish qualifies for the Fat Cat Challenge. See the Brag Board!
Also, the ACCA is asking anyone who catches a tagged flathead or channel catfish at Lake Pleasant or Bartlett Lake to note the number of the tag, along with any other information such as weight, length or girth, GPA coordinates (if available) and then visit www.catfishaz.com.
