Alamo Lake
Vince G.: Went to Alamo on Sept. 1 … got there about 6:30 and left about 11:30. Bite was slow but steady, I caught 7 channels, all keepers, biggest was 5.25 pounds, rest were 1.5-3 pounds. Wife only caught two. (HA! Outfished her again!) Anyway, we launched at Cholla. If you take a boat, launch and recover from the dock side of the ramp. The further you get from the dock the less level the ramp is. Front of the trailer was a foot higher on the driver’s side than the passenger side. We took the boat to the submerged trees at the north end of the lake and tied to one in 15 feet of water. Used frozen shrimp and nightcrawlers. The fish preferred shrimp. Hope this helps–good luck.
