Check out the latest Flathead Catfish Survey Video from Lake Pleasant
Watch a video from last week’s Flathead Catfish Survey at Lake Pleasant. In the video you can see how multiple Flathead Catfish pop up on the surface of the water all around the “Chase Boat”. The chase boat’s job is to net all the fish that pop up away from the electroshocking boat. The electroshocking boat is putting out a low amperage current into the water that pulls Flathead Catfish to the surface. The current stuns the fish and results in the fish floating or skittering along the surface of the water. These surveys are important because they provide information on the population, size structure, and the health of the fish.
